Crawl Space

When you are building a cellar do you feel that some parts in these rooms are not used as well as they should be. For example, the lowest spaces in your cellar, those are even too low to walk in them straightly. But when you think about it, also those rooms can be used very beneficially. You could transform them into crawl space.

What is a crawl space, you think? It is what it sounds like, that means that crawl spaces are the parts of your cellar that are too low to walk in, but nevertheless they can be very useful. There are so many things that you could do with a crawl space.

For example, tired of your dog or cat sleeping in the kitchen, prepare a cozy space for them in the edges of your cellars, something that is not too small and takes into account the size of the animal. Another option is to use the crawl space to store the thins that you do not use very often, like put your or your children skis away for the summer or on the other hand store the bikes for the winter.

If you plan your crawl spaces also into the building of your cellar, you will win a lot of useful spaces that you did not think of using before.

I am looking at a property in the Atlanta area that was built without a basement. It only has crawl space. Is there any way to install a basement after the property has been completed and around what estimated cost would that be?

I have a home in a Chicago suburb with a crawlspace about 26x28. I want to know if it is possible to dig it out and put in a real basement. Can it be done and what's a ballpark figure?
