crawl spaces



i'm in the process of doing my crawl space which is dirt. i have dug a trench around the foundation and installed sock pipe and a sump pump. what i need to know is when i lay the vapor barrier down will i need to remove the instullation that is between the joist? there is also alumnima foil over the instullation to keep moisture from getting it wet. i need help on what to do?
