Flat purchase - garden flat - need advice | |
Hi - I've got a garden flat under offer in London. It's a Victorian building and the front of the house has a patio area where the earth underneath is against the majority of the wall to the flat I am interested in.
A damp survey has suggested tanking the affected walls but there is no mention of any pumping of water caught by the tanking. Does this sound correct?
Also, if I were to agree with the flat owners above (it's shared freehold) what recommendations can you make for companies who could excavate out the patio area to a suitable height not to cause more damp, whilst creating an under-patio storage area away from the wall? Should I be wary of anything other than gas/electricity etc services when getting this done? Cost is obviously an issue
