Wanting to find ballpark cost for adding 12" of headroom to basement

Our basement has a concrete floor already, and the ceiling is only about 6'3" high. We'd like have it dug out so it's at least 7'.
We'd like to know for one if this is possible, and two, a rough price estimate. The basement is 800 sq. ft., and it was built in 1903.
